Week 5 - UV Unwrapping

Friday 12 October 2018
We were given four meshes to unwrap as an introduction to mapping UV's.  I used online references to help me plan where the best seams would be, but I found it to be mostly trial and error until I find something that worked. I actually drew out on paper some of the UV's before cutting and unfolding them first, as it gave me a better idea of what might  work.

I tried to keep seams in hidden or less seen areas, so that if a texture was applied it would look as seamless as possible. I also aimed to keep the UV's large so I was making the best use of texture space, while maintaining proportion between different UV shells. I used a checkered map to test this when working with the UV's.
